The peace ambassadors

art and movement for vulnerable populations

Francess and Sulcut are yoga and mindfulness teachers who offer yoga and programs that combine art and movement for vulnerable populations in Freetown through their organization, The Peace Ambassadors. They currently have three ongoing projects:

  • Project “New Me” for young women sex workers aged 18-25 who live on the streets.

  • Yoga and mindfulness classes for youth living on the streets.

  • Yoga, art therapy, and movement programs for inmates: men, women, juvenile centers, and people with disabilities.

Their programs integrate yoga and meditation, mindfulness, theater, poetry, writing, painting, and music. Their vision for the future is to make their projects sustainable, ensuring they can continue their work and expand their reach.

Their Mission: To provide comprehensive support to vulnerable individuals, such as young sex workers, people in prison, and homeless youth, through innovative programs that combine yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and various forms of art.

Their vision for the future is to continue promoting the mental and emotional well-being of prostituted individuals and people deprived of their freedom, generating a positive impact on their lives.
